Social media and contact icons missing

    Hello,

    I had installed the Contacts Widget plugin on my website and after updating the plugin yesterday, all the social and contact icons have disappeared. Please help.

    I am seeing the social media icons in your site footer. Are you still not seeing them display on your site?

    The icons on the top header and the fixed social icons on the side have gone missing. When I deactivate the widget, they come back.

    I had a similar issue when I updated to versions 1.5.0 where it broke some of my custom css and also caused problems with my social media icons.

    I ended up having to restore back to 1.4.1 and everything went back to normal.

    It seems like there is something amiss with this latest updated that is causing conflict with or overriding theme/plugin CSS classes is the best I can figure out.

    We’re now bundling Font Awesome v5 and no longer using v4. I’d venture to guess if your theme is still bundling anything prior to Font Awesome 5 you might see some of the issues you are describing.

    Here is what I have been able to figure out. It seems the issue isn’t actually the theme, but with the Beaver Builder Plugin itself.

    So, anyone using the Beaver Builder plugin that wants to update to versions 1.5.0 will need to change their Beaver Builder from Font Awesome 4 To Font Awesome 5 per instructions in this article (https://kb.wpbeaverbuilder.com/article/645-font-awesome-5-icons)

    The other issue is that even if you update your icon set in the Beaver Builder settings. Font Awesome 4 and Font Awesome 5 use different css classes so any css customizations will need to have the class updated to match the new FA5 classes.

    Long story short, anyone still using FA4 is going to have some work to do before they can update this plugin.

    This plugin should now work fine with Font Awesome v4. We’ve introduced a fix to ensure compatibility.

    If you notice any issues while using this plugin alongside another plugin or theme running Font Awesome 4, please let us know.
