    Hello,

We have an issue with the social image not populating on specific pages when the links to those pages are shared in messaging apps like Teams, Whatsapp and Telegram. The homepage has no issue, but others, even though I have tried manually selecting the social image on each individual page (the same social image that is selected globally within the SEO Framework settings) on the backend but still nothing appears in the messaging apps for a social image. This is not an Archive page.

Are we missing something? If we select a social image in the SEO Framework Global settings should it not apply to all pages of the site? Also have you added support for archive pages?

    Thank you

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello!

I just tried that link on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Discord, and LinkedIn. None of those had issues displaying an embed of the page; they all displayed this image: /wp-content/uploads/2023/10/1200x630.jpg, which I assume you selected.

TSF selects an image for social sharing in this order:

    1. A manually entered custom image of either a post, term, or post type archive.
    2. Featured image of the post.
    3. Applicable images from the post content.
    4. Custom fallback image set at the SEO Settings.
    5. Site header image.
    6. Site logo.
    7. Site icon.

There are some more places TSF can choose images from, such as from the Homepage Social Settings of the SEO Settings page for the homepage (before 1.), or the Product Gallery for WooCommerce Products (between 2. and 3.).

If you change an image for a page, the social platforms may still display the old image. They retain a cached copy of the page for a few minutes or hours, which helps alleviate millions of social network users spamming your site for the latest image. A side effect is that you may still see an older image.
