• I have had Social Share Icons installed for about a week.

Today after upgrading to the newest production version of WordPress i noticed that the Social Share Icons were missing on Dev, Staging, and Prod. When I visited the Social Share Icons settings page, the settings were all gone and the defaults were not the correct values.

I was able to restore the social icons by uninstalling social share icons, reinstalling, reactivating, then reconfiguring. I fixed all 3 environments.

I then took a backup of the Dev site then restored that backup to Staging. The social icons disappeared again. When I visited the settings page once again, the settings were all gone and the defaults were not the correct values.

I again restored the social icons by uninstalling social share icons, reinstalling, reactivating, then reconfiguring.

    Is this an expected behavior?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Thank you for your question.

Could it be that your backups didn’t include the database? That’s where the settings are stored for our plugin. Specifically, in wp_options.

I suspected the same thing. Restored with the database. Still the same behavior.

Also, the behavior manifested simply by upgrading to the newest version of WordPress.

Hm, very hard to say what the issue is. A lot of our plugin users update to newest version of WordPress, and don’t report this issue.

For now, please use the import/export function of our plugin’s settings.
