• Hi,

I just upgraded to Simple Social Icons plugin 1.0.13. The icons are now being displayed as a box with hex code rather than the icon. I don’t have any caching or minification plugin installed on the site. I have cleared my browser cache and that hasn’t helped.

I don’t see anywhere in the source code that the font family ssi-icomoon font is being loaded. Do you need to load the font file somewhere?

See the header of this page: https://www.realparentinglab.com/

How do I get the icons to display again?

    Thank you.

    Hi ljkeashly!

Have the order or style of icons been modified with custom theme code?

It would be worth checking your theme’s files (particularly functions.php) for the imple_social_default_glyphs filter, then updating the glyph codes you see there to match the ones here: https://github.com/copyblogger/simple-social-icons/blob/develop/simple-social-icons.php#L100

You should find that solves things for you, but feel free to ask if you need further help with this!

    Hi,

I can not find anywhere that the filter above has been applied in the custom theme. It is a Genesis 2.1.4 theme that is being used.

    Other ideas?

    Thank you for your response.

    Thanks for taking a look!

As well as Genesis, did you also check your custom child theme named “RPL”, which you can find at wp-content/themes/rpl/functions.php?

When I update the icon codes in my browser to use the latest ones, the icons are restored, which normally suggests a filter in a theme or plugin is altering the icon codes: https://d.pr/i/1dq6e
