I just visited the page and the icons show fine for me. Here’s a screenshot:

It does appear you are using a plugin that removes query strings from CSS assets. So, I suspect, your local browser on your PC is using an older version of the CSS file because it does not “know” a new version should be downloaded.

You’ll either have to enable query strings for CSS assets so the browser will download the updated version, OR, clear you browser cache.

    Hope this helps!

ps. This is not a bug or limitation in Connections. Without the CSS query string, any time a plugin developer of any plugin changes/updates CSS and the browser does not know to download the new version, you will run into this issue.

    Hi Steven

We have Connections installed on both of our websites and on GrandBendTourism.com the social media icons show as coloured blocks only without any visual definition and yet on GrandBendChamber.ca the social display just fine.

    https://www.grandbendtourism.com/stay/directory-of-accommodation-providers/
    https://grandbendchamber.ca/membership-directory/

Both sites are running the same versions and I’m viewing them in the same browser.

Both sites run WPRocket, Cloudflare and essentially the same plugins.

What can I do to fix this situation?

    Thanks, Susan

Sorry to hear you are having trouble! I just visited both sites and I see the social icons on both. Here’s a screenshot of what I see:

I suspect, your local browser on your PC is using an older version of the CSS file because it does not “know” a new version should be downloaded because the version query strings have been removed by the caching on your site (mostly likely).

I suggest that you flush your page cache and your local browser cache.

Hope this helps, let me know.

    Hi Steven

OK, so sorry to have bothered you with this – when I went back to the browser the cache had cleared! Icons appearing correctly.

    Thanks
    Susan
