• <meta property=”og:description” content=”…”
    <meta name=”twitter:description” content=”…”

in the … there are the full text content of the post. Enters end quotes too, what is causing a validation error and looks bad in the source code. Two versions before it was good.

    It looks like the following:
<meta property=”og:description” content=”Quot brute interesset eu est, tota praesent eu sea, ne eam latine adversarium. Ea pri placerat moderatius, vidit perfecto pri ne. Aeque antiopam tractatos ad vix, mei mnesarchum definiebas ad. Solum nonumes neglegentur pro eu.

In lorem melius eos. Suas offendit id vim. Ex tibique voluptaria temporibus pro, pri ex nemore imperdiet comprehensam.

    _
    _
    _
    _
    _
Some text in the end of the post.” />

_ means more line breaks (just the site stripped it)

    Please correct it!
    Thanks!

  • Hi Kata,

What is your website, and what tool are you using to validate it?

    Hi,

I don’t want to add my site here, but I looked and the quotes are ok, sorry for the missunderstanding, so no validation error.

But what is very ugly the lot of empty lines, what I wrote previously. On my site, the posts looks like: some text, many images, some text, more images or youtube video(s) in iframe, some text. And where the empty lines are in the social description, there are the images in the post.
If you strip the empty lines from the social descriptions, then it will be good.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Kata,

Thanks for the input, I’ll look into this for the next release.

I vote for some fixing of this problem too – on my site the og:description is picking up nearly all of the content of some very long posts…..it just plain looks screwy….it should only be stripping out the first 160 words of the post and using that according to the AIO documentation, but it’s using waaaay more than that.

    thanks!

    Hi TrishaM,

For social meta descriptions it’s longer, actually, but try updating to 2.1.3 (just released) and see if that fixes your formatting issues!

I’m also facing the same problem after updating my plugin. The social meta description is not working. It’s just taking the first 1000 words from the post.

    Hi mfirdaus_azizi,

Please start a new thread for your issue.

Hi Peter – thanks updating did fix the description problem….it’s great now ??

However, I’m still having a serious problem with the OpenGraph tags interfering with the Post/Page title rewrite as I posted in this thread (link below) – can you please take a look at that? That’s the one I desperate need a fix for…

    Hi,

thanks for the update, it’s better now, but still has some issue.
Now the empty lines are gone.
Unfortunately not exactly gone, they transformed to spaces ??

If in the text was 5 empty lines, then they changed to 5 spaces.

    It looks like:
    <meta property=”og:description” content=”Something text I wrote in the post_ _ _ _ Now I wrote another text _ _ _ _ _ _ _ and the closing words.” />
(Now the _ means space character)

    Hi katazina,

That’s not a bug, it’s a feature; we had some complaints about line breaks in the og:description tag, and as they don’t need to be there, they are now replaced with spaces.
