• Hi there

I’ve used a couple of the Blocks through WP, including the ‘Share’ Block, the ‘Social Profile’ Block, and the ‘Click to Tweet’ block.

These were working fine up until a few days ago, but then they no longer show the logo of the social channel in them. For example:

Click to tweet icon not showing: /4-things-that-changed-in-the-office-when-i-became-a-dad
Social profile not working (bottom of page):
Share not working (end of article): /4-things-that-changed-in-the-office-when-i-became-a-dad

The only thing I can think that happened was there was a WP update, and following that these didn’t seem to work. Also to add, these are being served by the WP Blocks plugin, not a 3rd party

    Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hi @dancareerdad,

Based on your username and the page names that you have indicated, I have determined that you may be talking about the page at https://www.careerdad.co.uk/4-things-that-changed-in-the-office-when-i-became-a-dad. I’ve gotten a look at the Social profiles, Share, and Click-to-Tweet blocks that are on the page and all are working for me as expected. I’ve tested with FireFox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. What internet browser are you experiencing issues on? Just to test and make sure I also installed some blocks on a test page of my personal blog and went through the process from upgrading them from 1.12.1 version blocks to 1.13 blocks. I was not able to reproduce any of your described issues. Do you have a live site that we can look at perhaps? Thanks in advance for your time writing a response.

    Best regards,

    Anthony

    Hi Anthony

Thank you for such a comprehensive response. Could you add a screenshot of what you can see?

    Here’s what I get:

    WP errors

    <script async src=”//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>

The buttons and share functionality are working as expected, but it’s more the visuals: the social logos aren’t displaying as they should.

And the link you used in your post is the live site ??

    Thanks

    Dan

    Hi @dancareerdad,

Thanks for following up with us on this. I have not had much luck in identifying the cause of that behavior except for on your site and using the Edge browser. I do not see that behavior in Chrome or FireFox and cannot replicate the issue on my personal site even using edge browser. Ill have to think about it and spend some time revisiting this issue.

Ill keep you updated on what I can find before I close this support request.

    Best,

    Anthony

Thanks Anthony – really appreciate your help on this! In the meantime I’ve just updated the buttons to have the text in, too, and that seems to work.

Will revert back if there’s a fix!

    Hi @dancareerdad,

I was not able to identify the source of the issue you reported. I found several behaviors that are atypical however. After consulting with colleagues on the path forward here, it seems the most likely scenario is that software conflicts are causing the behavior which you have reported.

To fix this issue, we need to identify the root cause of the issue. If you are able to do the following it might help us identify where the break is coming from.

    1. Replicate the issue with only the CoBlocks plugin running. Please disable all other WordPress plugins on the site. If the issue persists, this would likely rule out any other plugins causing the behavior.

    2. Replicate the issue with a base theme and only CoBlocks running. If you can still replicate the issue after step one, then please also switch active themes to TwentyNineteen or another default team and see if the issue persists. Please note that all plugins except for CoBlocks should be disabled.

    3. If the issue persists then this might identify that the Browser, a Browser Extension, or CoBlocks are causing the behavior. One last thing to test here is multiple browsers like Chrome, FireFox, and Edge browser.

If you are able to report back to us on these items, it would likely help us to narrowing down the cause of the behavior.

    Best,

    Anthony
