• So far we have been using this to edit posts and pages. It works perfectly.

    This plug-in is so useful that it ought to be an integral part of WordPress itself instead of being just a plugin.

    Before installing this plug-in we found it incredibly time-consuming to edit long posts with just the standard plain-text editor. That standard plain text editor in WordPress is awful: just plain black text with no colour formatting, no indentation no line numbering. The standard WordPress editor might be fine for simple and short posts. However, our posts are long and complex: full of datatables, charts, etc as well as special classes on tags. Editing these posts was painfully slow and time-consuming without a proper text editor.

    (The Visual Editor is not useful to us, because we need to work with the raw html – e.g. to enter our own custom classes and IDs on tags.)

    So I went hunting and found this plugin called Synchi. It’s perfect and exactly as described!

    It’s very easy to use because it replaced the plain text editor. When editing posts and pages the editor now shows:

    • full colour formatting as you would find in an editor such as TextMate or SublimeText – with tags, classes, links, etc, all in distinct colours;
    • indentation (which is done automatically and correctly when you press enter at the end of a line); and
    • line numbering.

    Thank you to the developer!
