    Hi,
You really need to make a change to this plugin.

I configured it the following way:
[When mailbox is not available: Change status to ‘Bounce’]

But whenever a bounce occurs the following happens:
Instead of being labeled with ‘Bounce’ the subscriber is automatically subscribed to the list he wanted to join AND TO SOME RANDOM LIST that unfortunately happens to be our most private one.

This is a huge security issue for us.

    —-

    Adittional Feature Requests:
    – Please add “Action taken” to the log.
    – Please give us the ability to manually unset the ‘Bounced’ status back to ‘not confirmed’ and to set it the other way around.

Thank you very much in advance
    Best, Philipp

  • Hi , can you please reinstall this plugin and check if the problem occur again ?

Hi @pdhumanist, A new version ( 1.3.0 ) of this plugin just released. Please update your version to current and after updating please visit plugin settings page and change all settings again as your needs than hit save change.

This is very important, last version of plugin didn’t able to removed unused settings properly. so please reset the plugin settings, this problem will be fixed, I hope.

Finally, please let us know if this works properly.

BTW, In this version, they’ve improved the log page. Now you can sort your log by id, email and bounced reason. Also you can search log table by email or bounced reason. Let us know if you like it.

Hey @tamimibrahim17 thank you very much for your answer.
Indeed after the mail to a receiver bounced the person is now added to the bounced list.

But if the person is registering for the newsletter again, it seems like a new mail is sent also to people who are on this list.
Is there a limit like “3 bounces and there wont be outgoing mails to this address anymore”?

Otherwise we would still have the backscatter problem.

I appreciate the new log page. But what do you think about the feature requests I made above?

    Best,
    Philipp

Ah and how do I reset a plugins settings? Uninstalling didn’t work.

Is there a limit like “3 bounces and there wont be outgoing mails to this address anymore”?

It is something you have to configure using Mailpoet plugin itself. Our plugin doesn’t control the “Mail sending”. In future we will add rules like if “email detracted bounced 3 times in a row, it will be moved to extreme bounced list”, after than you can configure Mailpoet to not to send email to that particular list subscriber.

    – Please add “Action taken” to the log.

It will be limit challenging, for a bounced reason there could be many actions set. If there is action for one reason than we could do that easily. However, currently we are working to make this features available. When it’s done we will let you know .

    – Please give us the ability to manually unset the ‘Bounced’ status back to ‘not confirmed’ and to set it the other way around.

I didn’t actually get this part. If you want to change a subscriber status manually, you can do that from Mailpoet plugin list page or by editing that subscriber right? So, why do you need that in our plugin.

So, feel free to ask us any questions / feature requests . We will patiently review your query.

    Thanks,
    Tamim
