Per the title, so far my experience, (today) with Litespeed Cache has been positive. What I am not seeing make a difference are my attempts to defer java script. I understand that GTMetrix is just a tool and my tests have been improved by implementing and tuning LS Cache. Yet all my attempts can’t seem to improve on deferring JS.

    Any clues appreciated.

Also, a cautionary tale. After fine tuning LS Cache, I then engaged an “autoptimize” plugin and my scores dropped a bit. Removing the plugin and flushing all caches, my GTMetrix score improve, but my “Defer JS” warning remained lower than it was.

Of all the different WordPress Caching plugins, I am liking Litespeed Cache as my go-to tool.

I am on a LiteSpeed hosted Reseller account and have engaged CloudFlare directly. Overall, I have seen page load time drop to 2.1 sec, (aiming lower), but that red flag…

    Addendum…
So after I sent the above message, I engaged Browser Caching and the subsequent test show Defer Java Script improve as well as Leverage Browser caching.

But that came at a cost, raising my page load by .8 sec to 2.9.

Hi @wudman, just checked the Fully Loaded Time on GTMatrix is 1.6s. Please try to test your site under cache hit to check the cached version.

You can find the caching status on Waterfall > First response (/) > x-litespeed-cache and you should see x-litespeed-cache: hit if it’s cached.

Also for the remaining Defer JS issue on GTMatrix:

    1) The maps.google.com is an external resource which cannot be deferred.
    2) All JQuery will be excluded if you turned ON Exclude JQuery.
    3) Inline JavaScript cannot be deferred.

Thanks for the fast response. Appropriate response rated in recommendation. My goal was under 2 seconds for load. Any resources on eliminating Google resources, i.e. Google Maps from being loaded? Specifically within LS Cache, can we stuff that process? Not so worried if I am coming in under 2 sec, but hey, I will take any fractions I can.

Just a heads up to other users, this wasn’t that hard to implement, but GTMetrix and other tools did point me at places I needed to make minor optimizations. Very nice to be “All Green” when it didn’t start that way!
