• I have used VFB PRO (classic) for years, and been happy with it. Easy to use and reliable. And affordable.
Recently I had to build quite complex forms, and bought the new VFB Pro for 69$. With awesome features?
After adding quite a lot of fields the form bugged. I started over. Error message every time I tried to insert to insert conditional logic between two other rules. No problem, I could add after last rule. A bit puzzled by the weird user interface, but hey – it might be me using a new product.
The form bugged again after the same number of input fields. I mailed support, and they asked me to contact my web hosting company to adjust parameters. The server parameters was the problem. I was a bit provoked and installed Gravity Forms. Gravity forms did not have the same challenge with my server parameters.
So – good thing – I discovered Gravity forms – and I love it (I don’t sell it:) And have experienced WOW-support. I think VFB’s strategy to force users to upgrade to a more expensive product will fail. In this segment there are products that do what VFB PRO says it can do – and fails to do.
Feeling silly that I spent money on the product – and because the problem was the web server they could not (would not, really) give me a refund.
Thank you for the good times VFB PRO – I have found a new lover

  • Hello Ketil,

Thank you for your comments and feedback about VFBPro. We do value your feedback, please understand that our requirements regarding server settings, are very common place as php sets allowed variables, and amount of variables in a php process to a database. Our developer employs the latest technology, because your server did not meet our requirements does certainly not mean that our plugin is broken. In fact you are going to begin to see a lot more plugins demanding higher php limits and versions as changes as the architecture of WordPress changes.

All of the big name form builder have pros and cons. VFBPro has 100s of features, some of them very unique only to VFBPro, which is why it is used on tens of thousands of websites worldwide, and is one of the most recognized form builders for WordPress.

We do however understand the challenges with the new conditional logic, while it works and functions well, it is a little harder to use than our previous version.

I am not sure the entire context of your review above is entirely accurate, otherwise our plugin would not be so widely used, and enjoyed by 600,000+ people that have downloaded the free version and many who have purchased our pro version. The 1 star in your review seems a little harsh given most of the complaints you have above were related to your server, not our plugin….

    Thanks again,
    Joseph

    Hi, Joseph
Your reply is a bit MOS (more of the same), so I will not comment on that.

What I want to say, is that I have been seen, met and heard in a very plesant way by others in your organization, and for that I am grateful. It also gives me new hope for VFBPro

    Ketil

We hope that you will be able to enjoy our plugin in the future and perhaps, increase your star rating.

    Have a good one,
    Joseph
