Snippets within comments section

    I installed the latest version for use in my comment section. When I edit a comment in the admin area I DO get the button to insert snippets. When I use the snipppet in the blog post itself it works fine. When I insert a snippet in a comment it just shows the shortcode. Should it work in (edited) comments or do I need to alter some code for it to work?
    When I paste the entire snippet code in a comment it does work. So it seems the shortcode has no reference to the snippets I created from a comment.

  • Hi,

    WordPress does not execute shortcodes in comments for security, other any commenter could trigger all kinds of functions by using shortcodes.

    If you really want to use shortcodes in comment, there might be some plugin out there that enables that in WP though, so that would be the solution to look into.
