Hi, so i fixed the issue but had to completely remove the plugin and reinstall it.

If you do this MAKE SURE YOU EXPORT ALL YOUR SNIPPETS TO XML FILE BECAUSE IF YOU DELETE THE PLUGIN ON THE “PLUGINS” PAGE IT WILL ERASE ALL YOUR SNIPPETS!!

Hope that helps anyone experiencing the same issue.

Does the developer know why this might have happened on this update?

    thanks
    Sam

    Well done Sam !
I did hat and everything is ok.
Just notice that, in my case (showing a database error message at the top of the screen) after the xml export of your snippets, you’ve to open the file and delete the wrong message located at the top of the code before to re-import it.

Good work Sam, that fixed it for me too. Thank you.

If you do need to rollback to a previous release of Code Snippets is to use WP Rollback, then rollback and select 2.9.0.

Version 2.9.2 has just been released which should fix this issue, as well as the issue that I caused this bug to be introduced when I tried to fix it.

Huh. I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it working again, too. Thanks, Sam (@xumbrella) for the reminder to export my snippets. That could have been ugly! ??

Wow! That’s a quick fix, Shea!

I really appreciate this plugin. ??

    Thanks! Hopefully it works!

My apologies for introducing this error in the first place.

Thanks for the quick update Shea.

I can confirm that 2.9.2 still works for me, though I can’t confirm it prevents the problem seen in 2.9.1 because reinstalling the plugin changed the table collation settings.

I just installed 2.9.2 and none of my network activated snippets are running anymore. No php errors. Per sub-site snippets are working. Do I need to re-install as well?

Actually both network-activated and all network-shared snippets no longer run. Only snippets created under individual sub sites still work…

    Hey @danielgm,

Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce the issue – networks snippets are running just fine for me on my testing multisite networks. It’s a big hard to debug this without any more information, but I’ll continue to see if I can find what might be the issue.

I have the same issue that none of the snippets work anymore ??

Shea Bunge @bungeshea I have to be honest here m8…

I love LOVE your plugin sooo much but the latest versionS (I’m talking about months now) are bringing up NEW bugs every time.

Your once so stable plugin seems to faLL down deeper and deeper.

Has this something to do with your time or interest? Is there still a healthy future for this plugin?

    Tnx.

This plugin definitely has a healthy future. I am at least as invested in it as I have been for the past year or so, if not more invested.

I’m unsure how you are equating recent updates with less interest. These updates have been released specifically to fix various bugs that people have reported. It is unfortunate that in the process of doing so, more bugs have been introduced, but unfortunately I am not able to test the plugin on every conceivable site setup that people may be using it on, and so these things will happen from time to time.

Relating to this specific issue, I have said that there is little I can do with the information I have been given. I am more than happy to debug an issue and create a patch, but I cannot debug an issue that I cannot see. If I had access to a site where the issue was occurring, I would actually be able to see if I can track down the cause, but without being able to reproduce the issue, there is no cause for me to track down. The best I can do is look at the code and try and imagine edge cases where it could fail – this method only can get me so far.
