This plugin definitely has a healthy future. I am at least as invested in it as I have been for the past year or so, if not more invested.
I’m unsure how you are equating recent updates with less interest. These updates have been released specifically to fix various bugs that people have reported. It is unfortunate that in the process of doing so, more bugs have been introduced, but unfortunately I am not able to test the plugin on every conceivable site setup that people may be using it on, and so these things will happen from time to time.
Relating to this specific issue, I have said that there is little I can do with the information I have been given. I am more than happy to debug an issue and create a patch, but I cannot debug an issue that I cannot see. If I had access to a site where the issue was occurring, I would actually be able to see if I can track down the cause, but without being able to reproduce the issue, there is no cause for me to track down. The best I can do is look at the code and try and imagine edge cases where it could fail – this method only can get me so far.
