I recently upgraded my site to the latest WordPress, PHP, and Theme version (Responsive). Everything changed. For Yoast SEO, when I look at the Yoast Snippet for any page, such as https://litkidz.com/reading-curriculum, it shows the URL as the home page, and it doesn’t seem to be using the text that is on the page, as it says my keyword is non-existent. It is doing this for All the pages and posts, ie, it is no longer reading the text on the page, because it is pointing to the home page.

I have no idea what to do to fix this. Any ideas?

  • Hello @laurarduggan!

The Yoast SEO plugin you’re running is very old. The latest version is 14.6.1 and you’re still running v3.2.5. Can you please update your plugin first?

Since you’re updating from a very old version, it may not work via the WordPress admin. You need to update it manually via FTP.

Oh, duh! I upgraded everything except that plug-in… Thank you. It’s upgraded, and now all my ‘green’ SEO are not so green after all. Lots of work. But thank you, I know what to do now!

You’re welcome. Enjoy optimizing your site!
