    For some reason the automatic created page that is used as catalog page, shows the snippet information of the 1st product present in this page.
    I tried changing the snippet with the squirrly plugin, but it the page refuses to accept changes, and doesn’t save any alterations.

    I don’t have to express how important it is for us the ability to create the and control the information that shows in SERPs

    I am sorry for late response.

    You can edit the meta description with any SEO plugin that supports custom post types.

    For example with Yoast SEO you can change the meta description for each post type archive in the Titles & Metas settings.
