  • Same problem here.

    Fields under the posts not showing.

    Hi @giacomolaw,

    You have two different snippets appearing. One is from Yoast see image: https://pasteboard.co/HWzXWgv.png and other is not: https://pasteboard.co/HWzY1tO.png.

    We suggest speaking with your theme developer for information on how to remove that non-Yoast meta description.

    Once it is removed, can you confirm if you use Fetch as Googlebot that the issue is resolved? This will force Google to update the index. You may need to use it several times. This guide explains more:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/fetch-as-googlebot/.

    @ivo1961,

    We are confused. Is the snippet not appearing in Google OR does the Yoast SEO Metabox not appear at all? As in the box is blank? If it is blank, please create a new topic as this is a different issue.

    @pcosta88 thanks for the response. I set that description there myself but I only want it to apply to the main page. How can I use Yoast to show that description for the home url?

    Thanks!

    @giacomolaw,

    The issue is that you have two sets of meta description. The non-Yoast one is appearing everywhere on your site. That is the one Google has decided to use.

    Please speak to your theme developer for information on how to remove that non-Yoast meta description.

    Then resubmit your sitemap to Google using this guide: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en. Eventually, over time, the meta descriptions will be replaced.
