I didn’t see it in the code. It just happened to be on one of my blog sites right on top of the jQuery button. Maybe I jumped to to conclusions, but I noticed in the change log that they added YouTube video on 1.1.0. I put 2 and 2 together and assumed that was why it was doing this.
Now this is frequent, I’ve only seen it happen one time. I didn’t waste any time, so I went ahead and deactivated the plugin.
I will also mention that this happened 1 day after updating to 1.2.4. This was the only plugin that I’ve updated in the last 3 weeks and it all started today, after updating the plugin less than 24 hours ago. Perhaps it’s just a coincidence, but it’s definitely suspicious with the timing.
I have no idea. I’m not a developer. Just wondering why this would happen on top of the “back to top” jQuery button that was powered by this plugin. What do you think could have caused this?
Without knowing what other plugins you use, whether or not your site is compromised, or whether or not your theme is at fault, or whether or not it was your browser – no clue. But seeing as there is nothing in the plugin itself that makes any call to Youtube, there is no possible way for it to show content from Youtube.
