Smushing images broke site

  • Half way through the Smushit image optimisation the site broke due to excessive resource usage. Afterwards the site became inaccessible with a 500 error until I manually removed the plugin by FTP. Panic over, but I’d never use it again and I certainly can’t recommend it.

    HI,

    The smushit image optimisation happens on the smushit server (not yours) so this is unlikely to be causing a 500 error. I would advise checking your php error logs for further information.
