Running free version of WP-Optimize, attempt to compress existing image(s). Operation fails whether single image or multi images, tested on random uploaded images.
    Error found in log file:
“Task with ID 3 and type (smush) failed with error code invalid_repsonse – The Smush process failed with an invalid response from the server”

P.S. I am also assuming the word response is misspelled in your code.

    Hi,

WP-Optimize uses smushing services from resmush.it, and Nitrosmush. You can configure which is used in the settings (WP-Optimize -> Images -> Compress Images -> Show advanced options). If the currently configured service is experiencing down-time, then the best thing to do is to tweak the settings to use the other.

Hey David, me again! Just wanted to let you know… After last update, I just added a single image to site and went to optimize… Showed the one available image to compress, I select it, start compression and then screen goes semi-transparent (super light black tint) then screen stays that way and cannot x-out, close compression complete window. Had to refresh the page to dismiss. Despite this little glitch, everything else working ok.

Hi, like others, whenever I try to compress images, either singly, or as a batch, I get the error:
Failed with error code invalid_response – The Smush process failed with an invalid response from the server

I’ve tried with settings to both Smush.it and NitroSmush, and get the same error.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi @paulhilton

We’re working on a fix to this issue. It affects users whose server doesn’t support file_get_contents.

    Best regards,

    Marc.
