Hello – really love the idea of using wordpress content in mails. great job!

My Question: Due to php limit and also european data regulations i need to use Mailjet as smtp provider (only european/german service). i tried the options given in the wordpress panel but couldn’t get it to work.

Would you give me a hint?

I have seen in google that you used to have a deal with mailjet which had been cancelled in the meanwhile. just sendgrid isn’t the right option concerning data transfer.

  • Get in touch with your host’s support about this, they might be blocking your SMTP Ports.

Same thing here : MailJet offers different ports, but doesn’t work in MailPoet

    Ports available : 25, 465 or 587
    TLS optionnal
    SSL available too

Tried all combinations, still get an error ??

When I try in a regular e-mail app to test those settings, it works.

Yes, usually hosts block ports needed for SMTP.

Contact your host for help in unblocking them!

Thanks for your answer … but I’ve checked all this ??

It’s running on my own server, which accepts others ports (see screenshot below).
And Mailjet is an external mail service that works on those ports.

So I don’t see chat else I can do …
I use MailJet for other sites on my server and it works, so I think the issue comes from MailPoet unfortunately :/

If you run your own web server, why don’t you simply send with it instead of MailJet?

It’ll be cheaper, and if you have your own IP, you’ll build your sending reputation from scratch.

Just make sure your IP isn’t tainted!

Because it’s for a client and I don’t wan’t to have issues with my server’s IP if he’s doing some nonsense with the tool, and sending out SPAM.

That’s why I’d like to get you’re plugin working.

    Hi,

Can you use https://www.imgur.com and upload an image of your MailPoet > Settings > Send With page? You can block out the username/password, I just want to make sure that you have the SMTP settings inputted correctly.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
i think about doing the same, sending mails with MailJet.
    Is there a solution meanwhile?

    Thanks

After some error and trial i think i figured out how it works:

    1) Install the Mailjet plugin
    2) Check the Mailjet Plugin settings – there you’ll find the specifications which will also work for Mailpoet
    3) Enter the smtp data in Mailpoet

Worked fine for me. In this case the host didn’t block any IPs.

    Thanks for sharing your solution!
I tried that, the testmail from mailjet works but i am still not able to send the testmail from mailpoet.
Are you using the SMTP port: 564 and SSL in mailpoet-settings?

i’m actuall using port 80 TLS, but this can be different in your case
