SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: (0)

I’ve just installed this today and had to change the SMTP port to 587 and the security to TLS encryption to get it to work for Gmail.

Also when using TLS and port 587 I still get the error:
SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: (0)

I’m trying to use Gmail smtp and continue to get the message [“ErrorInfo”]=>

string(22) “SMTP connect() failed.”

I have the SMTP port set to 587 and ‘Use TLS encryption’. Any suggestions as to what is going on?
