SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

    Hi, I just started to configure WP Mail SMTP, but the e-mail test can’t be delivered, because of this error :


    Mailer: Autre SMTP
    SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Failed to connect to serverSMTP server error: Failed to connect to server SMTP code: 111 Additional SMTP info: Connection refused

    For information, the SMTP who need to be configure is Office, but with the free version.

    I need to use STARTTLS, but WP Mail SMTP don’t offer this option.

    Any solution ?

    Hi @sbooby,

    Thanks for reaching out! The “STARTTLS” is something that should be supported by your mail server which is used to create a secure connection using TLS or SSL.

    If you have enabled Multi-Factor Authentication (2 Factor Authentication) on your Office 365 email account, you need to set up an App Password within your Office 365 account settings and then you can use that App Password under your WP Mail SMTP -> Settings -> SMTP Password area.
