    Hello,

    Easy SMTP plugin was working normally until some days ago, when g-suite asked to change the password.

    Typing the new password no longer sending emails. Test email gets the response :

    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO mydomain
    CLIENT -> SERVER: STARTTLS
    CLIENT -> SERVER: EHLO mydomain
    CLIENT -> SERVER: AUTH LOGIN
    CLIENT -> SERVER: [credentials hidden]CLIENT -> SERVER: [credentials hidden]SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at

    Password is 100% correct and less secure apps is on.

    Hi, @echoalpha!

    Thanks for reaching out!

    Please kindly know, that support for using Google less secure apps was discontinued on May 30, 2022 for some accounts. Since you are currently using this feature, consider switching to an app password to prevent any disruption in email delivery.

    Generating an app password in Gmail

    Before you can generate an app password in Gmail, you’ll need to turn on Google’s 2-Step Verification.

    1. To create an app password in Gmail, log in to your Gmail or Google Workspace account.

    2. Then, go to App passwords in your security settings. On this page, click on the Select app dropdown.

    3. Next, select the Other (Custom name) option from the dropdown menu.

    4. Then, enter Easy WP SMTP in the field provided and click the blue GENERATE button.

    This will generate an app password that you can use for your Easy WP SMTP setup.

    I hope this helps!

    Vitoria, thanks for your reply

    As i worte before, this is not a simple gmail account, but a G-Suite account, where less secure apps still working. And the option for this is ON.

    Do you still believe that the app password will solve the problem ?

    And after get the app password, how we uset it in Easy WP SMTP settings?

    regards

    Hi, @echoalpha!

    Thanks for following up!

    Yes, using an app password should help. All you’ll need to do is replace your current SMTP Password with the app password in the Easy WP SMTP settings.

    Please, give it a try and I hope it helps!

    Kind regards
