SMTP Email Setup Sent but not Received

  • I am trying to setup WordPress to use my SMTP server instead of PHP mail.
    I have tried two plugins “Gmail SMTP” and “WP Mail SMTP”. Both are doing the same thing, and the email is found in my SMTP sent folder, however, it is not received by who it is sent out to.

    I am using the same SMTP server for another CMS program I have installed on the same server and everything works great with that CMS.

  • Hey Josiah,

    I would definitely contact your hosting company. They should be able to look at their SMTP logs to see what happened when the message was sent, was it rejected by the server and never sent out or did it send but then some issue prevented it from being delivered to the recipient correctly etc. Their logs will be the key to finding out what’s happening to the message.
