SMTP email doesn't work after upgrade to 4.1

    Hi,

    My SMTP email stopped working after I upgraded wordpress to 4.1!
    I get the following message:

    Error: Port 587 is blocked on your server. First check the Port Number is Correct. If it is contact your Hosting support and ask them to
    1. Open the Port
    2. Ensure that it can be listened to from the outside.

    Any ideas why this happens?

    The plugins built in DEBUG of email send is telling you why it cannot send via SMTP

    Error: Port 587 is blocked on your server. First check the Port Number is Correct. If it is contact your Hosting support and ask them to
    1. Open the Port
    2. Ensure that it can be listened to from the outside.

    Updating to WordPress 4.1 would not close the port on your server – that is only done from the server system admin. If you have not already done so you need to post a ticket with your host with the information the plugin has given you.
