SMTP connect() failed. fix??

Hi, I’ve been using your plugin to use the Gmail SMTP servers and it’s been working great. But today I changed my WordPress notification email (Settings -> General -> Email Address) and after that this plugin stopped working and when I run a test i just recieve:
SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting
Now I can’t get the plugin to work. Any ideas on what happened or how to get it to work again?
