SMTP connect() failed Error – What to do

You get the “SMTP connect() failed” error when the SMTP details you entered in the settings of this plugin is incorrect.

The plugin uses the info you entered in the settings to send the email using SMTP. If your server rejects the connection then you will get this “connect failed” error.

Contact your hosting provider and tell them that the SMTP connection is failing. They should be able to configure the settings for you or give you valid SMTP configuration details that you can enter in the plugin’s settings.

All the following info needs to be accurate for the plugin to be able to connect. So make sure to get the correct details from your hosting provider and then try again.
