SMTP auth url error

  • hey so ive been reading these two articles :
    how to set up smtp using the wp mail smtp plugin
    how to securely send wordpress emails using gmail smtp
    but i am constantly getting various errors. in the beginning i had an error stating that my SMTP plugin wasnt sending any emails. so then i followed the article and now i am getting a different error :
    There was a problem while retrieving Auth for mail: Class WPMailSMTP\Providers\Mail\Auth does not exist

    initially this problem started because i wasnt able to send my verification email address to my new email. after days of trying to fix this i am stuck here. any help would be appreciated. i have uninstalled the plugin and started fresh three times. i always run into this error

    Hi @karupu

    1. How exactly are you installing the plugin?
    2. Are you using “Plugins > Add new” inside your site admin dashboard?
    3. Which provider have you activated?
    4. Are you using any kind of caching on a site and/or server? Varnish, Nginx static caching, PHP OPCache, W3 Total Cache, Super Cache, WP Rocket Cache etc?

    Hey Slava,

    Thank you for taking the time to respond. i am a bit new to the web developing environment so bare with me a little.

    1. i installed the plugin through the wordpress dashboard -> plugin
    2. yes i did plugins > add new >searched WP SMTP and installed that plugin
    3. i have activated the gmail provider
    4. i am not too sure what you mean. i purchased the website off someone else so i am not sure exactly what that is. in my settings it says cache normal (level 2)
