SmartCrop attributes/classes not appearing

I can set the focal point in the admin panel, but the SmartCrop classes/attributes are not appearing. Most recent WordPress and plugin version. Tested without any other plugins active. Theme is Twenty Nineteen.

Used to work, but apparently some upgrade of either WP or the plugin broke stuff (maybe long ago; I noticed the broken behaviour by chance just now.)

It seems several other users have the same problem.

Can you please check that the plugin works on the most recent WordPress version? Thanks a lot! ??
