    Hello.

Plugin: Smart Slider 3 and Firefox.

I have just migrated my website (to Siteground).

After clearing caches (on Safari and Firefox), the Smart Slider 3 is not showing on my homepage.

    Please help!

    Hi @jellemarechal!

I checked the linked page, and I can not see any Smart Slider 3 sliders appearing on that page. So if you meant a problem with the slider at the top, then that is not coming from us.
?Anyways we received your ticket in our system too, so please take a look at your emails.

    Hello Norbert,

The problem appeared to have been related to Combine JS settings & conflicts between WP Rocket and SG Optimiser. Disabling SG Optimiser and letting WP Rocket combine and defer JS solved the problem, and provided best performance.

HOWEVER: I was still concerned that the Smart Slider slows the page down too much. So I have now, as a test, replaced the Smart slider with the Gutenberg block “Media & Text Slider”.

-> Result is perhaps some better performance (GT Metrix & Google speed test). Though not absolutely sure…

Point is, I would much prefer the Smart Slide 3 as it offers way more customisation options. Is there any documentation that compares your Smart Slider 3 with Gutenberg’s block Media & Text Slider?

    Kind regards,
    Jelle

    Hello again,

I have re-installed Smart Slider 3, with little impact on performance. BUT:

–> all the overlay text on the slides is gone?? Not showing.

    HI @jellemarechal!

You can check your site’s unoptimized version if you write some random parameters to the URL (e.g: yoursite.xy?test=1). If you test this out, you can see, the texts are visible, that’s how you know, you have cache problems. You should try to exclude our files from WP Rocket, you can see documentation about it here:
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1976-cache-or-minification#wp-rocke
    As for the compare
I’m sorry but we don’t have any documentation that compares Smart Slider 3 with Gutenberg’s block Media & Text Slider, but we have a great article about how can you improve your site’s speed using Smart Slider optimization functions
    https://smartslider.helpscoutdocs.com/article/1925-how-to-speed-up-your-site
that could help you to improve your site’s performance.
