Smart Slider 3 + Elementor, sliders not working

    After the most recent series of updates my sliders, created in Smart Slider 3 and inserted into a page built with Elementor, don’t work.

    The sliders default to the last slide (the text layer doesn’t appear) and navigation neither works in manual nor auto.

    I’ve tried clearing cache, re-saving the sliders, replacing sliders with newly made ones and inserting the slider as a shortcode instead of as a widget. Nothing works.

    The curious thing is that, if I change the page template to default, the problem disappears; but I can’t use the default page template because I need Elementor’s Canvas to make a full page.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see this message. I just had a ticket which had the same error and it was happening because our files were not loaded. The cause of the reason was the Insert PHP Code Snippet plugin, but I haven’t heard back yet whether it was the plugin itself or the code that was added to the page.

    So your problem might be a plugin conflict, that you could easily identify by disabling all other plugins but Smart Slider 3. This way everything should be fine. Then start enabling back your plugins one by one or in small groups until the problem comes back again.

    Hi!

    Following Ramona’s suggestions I’ve managed to fix the problem. I was using a page model from Elementor called “Elementor canvas” that removes the default header and footer. It is probable that in the most recent update from them, wp_header and wp_footer were removed from the code thus making Smart Slider 3 incapable of working. I solved the issue by switching the page model to the WordPress default and then hiding the header and footer via CSS. That way the functions still get called and I get to keep the intended design to the pages.

    Thanks @daniel-coelho, I will try to create a test on my site to reproduce that issue. I hope I will be able to find the solution with Elementor canvas.

    @daniel-coelho, I just tried the Elementor canvas with Twenty-seventeen theme and everything seemed fine. Could you tell me which theme do you use and a list of the activated plugins on your site? It might help a lot!

    Thank you @daniel-coelho! I turned out we have a conflict with “Webcraftic Clearfy – WordPress optimization plugin” when the “Disable XML-RPC” setting switched on. I will try to handle this issue in Smart Slider 3. When I’m ready, can I send you a test package to try it out?
