    I just make the command void:

    //if ( isset($sem_sidebar_tile) && !defined(‘sem_sidebar_tile_id’) )
    //{
    // $sem_sidebar_tile->init();
    // }

    because my sidebar didn’t show up!

    But it seems to me that there must be a better idea…

    fetch the last version of both plugins, and if they’re still not showing up properly drop me a line.

    strangely, when i activate the plugin, it works correctly on single pages but when my non-single pages (home, category, etc) come up completely blank. i tried deactivating many plugins to see if there was some conflict but it seemed the only solution was to not use smart link ??

    (obviously something wrong on my end, just can’t figure out what…)

    Please send me more details (denis at semiologic dot com).

    In the V2.0 of SmartLinks linking like this seems to be broken :

    [Biodiesel->@ wikipedia] and [last.fm plugin->@ google]. Do search services like these now need to be registered via the API? These links were working fine prior to my upgrade to V2.0.

    Ok, so according to your blog you have removed search queries. I assume you have opted for the API to make it more extensible, but why make such a hassle for people upgrading. Everyone now has to register each search service that they had become used to? Given this, could you provide a little information about where to register these services? I understand the syntax, its unclear where one should call the register function from.

    v.2 is much much faster than v.1 ever was. I’ll be adding the search queries back in whan I’ve time to take care of it. Best I knew, noone was using it. And the search query also created a problem — I’d like to attach rather than search. e.g. [test->@wiki] should ideally link to the test wiki entry rather than to a search query. search queries are a default at best.

    Yes, for wiki’s and things with obvious direct links this makes sense.

    also worth noting is that v.1 will break in wordpress 2.0, because of the wysiwyg editor. smart link v.2 will not break, because it adds the links _after_ the html is rendered rather than _before_.
