Smart Coupons extends the basic functionality of coupons by adding gift cards. At checkout these work normally and the figures are shown with discounts, but when PayPal is chosen as the payment option on the popup the amount to be paid is without discount and the full amount is charged.

    Hi @mirkosassetti,

Which plugin are you using for this functionality? We’d be happy to take a closer look into it.
It depends on how it’s done specifically, but if custom discounts are added on the checkout page, they may not be taken into account in the PayPal window.
But the correct order total should be patched into the PayPal order before it is captured in any case. So the buyer should pay the correct amount.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,
the plugin is WooCommerce Smart Coupons (https://woocommerce.com/it-it/products/smart-coupons/).
The problem lies precisely in the fact that the total payable captured by PayPal is the one without the discount (gift card) applied.

    Thanks.

I discovered a really strange new fact: PayPal captures the exact amount if I leave Stripe active as payment gateway. If I disable Stripe, PayPal Payments no longer takes the discounted total but the full total.
