Imagify has always been my favorite image optimization service. However, since the WordPress Plugin lost it’s option to choose a quality preset (especially the lossless compression), I’ve had to disable the plugin.

The smart compression is fine for blogs where you don’t have any fullscreen photos, but way too aggressive for websites where photo quality matters. Images of about 400 KB get turned into 70 KB, but there are a LOT of pixel artifacts.

The quality is fine when I compress an image to lossless compression in the media library, but I don’t want to have to do this every time manually.

Please bring back the option to enable lossless compression in the Imagify plugin. I’d love to bring Imagify back to all my sites, but right now we are simply forced to switch to another service ??

    Hi @icola007

Thank you very much for your feedback on this!

Unfortunately, it is not possible at the moment to choose in bulk the optimization level. However, we have an important update regarding the Lossless compression where we can confirm from our developers that the Lossless option will be re-introduced on Imagify(v2.1). Unfortunately, I am not able to provide a timeframe at the moment.

Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions. I’ll be happy to help.

This is a huge issue for me as well. I have the premium infinite subscription and will be cancelling/not using this plugin anymore – it wrecked every image and thumbnail on my site. For any others running across this while looking for a solution, there are many options for lossless compression, as well as webp.

Yes this is an issue for me too,

my designers are complaining that the banner images are looking far too blurred.

If this issue doesn’t have a resolution within a week or so, I’ll have to cancel my subscription and look elsewhere.

    Hey there,

We switched from another famous service to Imagify with Unlimited Plan due to a recommendation and now this. The Smart compressed pictures look like they were took ages ago.

Not having a timescale for this clear BUG is not feasible. At least, we need a workaround… maybe via database? I can’t sit there for hours and click re-optimize for (exactly) 6.460 pictures!

If this is not fixed soon, we will switch again. And I think a comeback is very unlikely then.

    Thanks anyways and best regards

    Hey everyone,

We are really sorry about that and doing our best to release it at the beginning of November.

Meanwhile, you can revert the plugin to v1.10 which would allow you to reoptimize images to Normal compression level (Lossless). You can download it from this direct link.

    Hi,

Same issue here. If this isn’t fixed soon, we’ll have to part ways and subscribe to some other optimization plugin. The quality of the images are horrendous. Can’t understand why the option to chose optimization level has been removed.

Our images look terrible after this “smart compression” update – I’m looking into alternatives already ??

This is a huge issue for webP images. They are getting overcompressed and there is no setting to compress them less.

    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to thank you once again for your feedback and to let you know that we have released v2.1 of Imagify.

In this version, we have added the option to choose Lossless compression level snd to reoptimize images in the Bulk optimization page.

We would highly appreciate if you give it another try and let us know what you think.

    Best Regards
    Marko
