Slugs getting shortened all of a sudden

  • Hello everybody!

    OK – I’m having a weird problem which has not occurred before..

    First, I should say under settings I have permalinks set at custom structure – /%postname%/

    I just tried to create a page.. and created my own “slug”/url extension…

    Lets say it was “I like bread and butter”

    So the resulting URL for that page once posted should be “www.mysite.com/i-like-bread-and-butter.html or something like that

    but for some reason it is getting shortened to something like https://www.mysite.com/bread-butter.html

    It happens on both posts AND pages. I have attempted to go back in and fix the slug…and save it..but it keeps shortening it.. has this happened to anyone else? it is the first time this has happened and I haven’t changed anything – except I just updated wordpress…so I can only think it has something to do with that
