Sluggish Media Gallery Since 5.3.0

    Since updating to version 5.3.0, the WordPress Media Gallery is intensely sluggish. Any actions now have a significant lag/delay, including typing Alt and Title text.

    This must be related to ShortPixel’s new integration/settings/info displayed within the media gallery. Clearing object, network, and browser cache has no effect.

    Hi Mark,

    A few questions, if you don’t mind:

    • Can you please revert to version 5.2.3 and confirm that the slowness disappears?
    • Can you please deactivate all other plugins (except ShortPixel) and check if you still have the slowness?
    • Does the same happen with other browsers and/or websites?
    • Would you mind sharing with us a short recording showing us the issue?

    Can you please update to version 5.4.0 (released yesterday) and let us know if you still see the slowness you described? If yes, please proceed with the steps recommended by Gerard and let us know how it goes.
