slug won't change and page goes to 404

  • I am having an issue with a few of my sub pages-keeps reverting to 404. I have tried to change the slug and recreate the page but it keeps adding a -3, -4 etc to the name and reverts to a 404.php. I have tried changing my permalinks to pretty, and checked my htaccess and it has rewrite.
    Anyone know what’s up?
