I have encountered the exact same issue as reported in this thread.

In addition to encountering the issue on my own website, I reproduced the issue on a local test site that I have set up on my computer. I installed NextGEN fresh (it had not previously been installed) after deactivating all other plugins. I also switched to the Twenty Sixteen theme.

I created a gallery and uploaded 3 images to it. When I went to the “Manage” interface, it showed me that the Gallery path was “/wp-content/gallery/Test Gallery” when it should have been “/wp-content/gallery/test-gallery”.

As I said … NextGEN is the only plugin installed and I’m using the core Twenty Sixteen theme.

Friends I solve the problems of the slug, with download the version of Nextgen-gallery 2.1.19, 2.1.26 delete the version that was presenting this problem and install the version 2.1.19. and ready great.

Reverting to an old version does not solve the problem, it only puts a bandaid on it.

The albums that were created with version 2.1.26 won’t work, since their URLs are damaged. You should delete them and create them again already with version 2,1,19 installed. and you must not upgrade again to 2.1.26. It will take more than what they updated this version. This is a temporary solution, while they solved the problem with a new update of the plugin. Best regards!

elderbh … I didn’t update the plugin on any live sites. I test updates before I do them on live sites. And for the record, the albums do still work, it’s just that the paths to the images contain spaces, which they shouldn’t … but they still work (my test album on my test site did).

I created this post so that the plugin author would know that more than just one person is having an issue (i.e. the thread I included in my original post).

@beckyabsolute – Thank you very much for starting a new topic on this issue. We do very much appreciate you not just piling onto other similar topics.

As it is, we are aware of this issue (which is affecting many, but not all sites) and will have a correction for it with our next release.

    Thanks, again!!

Any update on when this issue will be resolved? No updates have been released since 3/15. I’m just wondering if there is a date scheduled for the next release.

We are using this plugin on 12 sites, and I am waiting for a fix to be released before updating it on any site.

@beckyabsolute – You can find the 2.1.31 release under the Developer tab … this version should correct the issue although we have not made it the stable release due to an unexplainable issue we have seen on one of our own sites. We suspect it will be a one-off problem so the 2.1.31 version should be fine to use.

You will need to go back to the “broken” galleries and click the Save Changes button to update them, and you may also need to clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous to see the effects immediately.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
