Hi. I am using this plugin exclusively to include “news” in the permalink of each of my posts.

What I would like to achieve is this:
I write my post, filling in the Title field, then the content and then I fill in all the Yoast SEO fields, using the Yoast slug field to assign the slug to my article.
Upon publication, my url will be: mydomain.com/news/slug-that-I-compiled-on-yoast

Now instead if I fill in the slug with Yoast and then save the draft article, Yoast’s slug field resets and empties.

What am I doing wrong? What is the correct setting for this use of mine?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi @balboj,

I apologize for the inconvenience. Could you check what version of Permalink Manager do you currently use?

If possible, please also verify if the problem occurs when:

    Hi Maciej,
thank you for your quick response.

Actually the problem does NOT occur if I temporarily disable the plugin and it occurs because “Drafts” were excluded in the plugin settings.

Maybe I am misusing the plugin, because actually what I am looking for is the standard wordpress operation, with only the addition of the prefix “/news/” before the slug. Is this possible with your plugin?

I would not want to be forced myself to insert this prefix whenever I want to edit my slug.
Also, with the plugin active, it keeps disregarding the slug field filled in directly by the Yoast SEO plugin.

    Hi @balboj,

In general, Permalink Manager overwrites the original WordPress URL with the custom permalink recorded when the post is published.

If the drafts are not excluded in the plugin settings, the “Custom permalink” initially field will be empty. However, you have the option to manually enter the permalink. If you do not enter a custom permalink manually, the plugin will generate one automatically when the post status changes to “Published”.

The custom permalink automatically generated by the plugin is based on the Permastructure settings. If you change them to news/%postname%, the final custom permalink will include both “news” prefix and the native slug.

What is the difference in the final permalink when the plugin is activated versus when it is disabled? Could you please provide me with some screenshots or record a video of all the steps you take when saving new draft posts with both Permalink Manager activated and deactivated?
