Slug changed to /blog/ when published

I just posted the first article to the Knowledgebase, and changed the slug to /social-metrics-explained/
However, when I went to the site, it’s showing the url as /blog/social-metrics-explained/, which it wasn’t showing before.
Also, when I check the slug as it should appear on our site, there’s now nothing there.
I’m looking for a place to nest the page under the slug, but not seeing any options.
Anyone solutions for this would be greatly appreciated.
