SLOWWWWWW

  • Ever since I updated to the new version of wordpress, my site has been painfully slow! Ive spoken to some who knows about these things but they want to charge me a fortune to “optimize” my website. I have a feeling it would be a much simpler fix than this.

    Does anyone know what may cause this and any steps I could take to resolve this problem?

  • The site loaded for me in a bit under 3 seconds. For a homepage that’s ~250kb, that’s not too bad. Where are you seeing slowness in the page loading?

    You should also look at a few tools to find out which part is slow. Something like FireBug can tell you how long each item takes to load, and YSlow will give you some pretty good metrics on what’s happening.

    I contacted my hosts, turns out it was the server causing the issues (even tho they tried to tell me it was plug ins and wordpress!) I went out for a couple of hours and the site is now running awesome! I didn’t change or do anything to my plug ins, so I can only assume, my call to them prompted them to check their servers!
