Slows website down by approx 2 seconds

  • Really disappointed by this plugin, we had issues with the switchover where it deactivated itself and now we are finding that it severely impacting on page load time.
    After much experimentation it appears that having the “Allow tracking of anonymous data” turned on adds 2 seconds onto site loading time!

    This is the last straw, we are now going to remove it from 70 client websites.
    You never truly appreciate Yoast till it’s gone.

    Hi there,
    It sounds like you were on a really old version of the plugin. The anonymous data setting doesn’t actually do anything. All of the code powering that functionality was removed over a month before your review. We’re going to add the functionality back in, but in the meantime, it’s impossible that it could have affected your site load speed, because at the moment its simply like a lightswitch in a house where the electricity is out. You can flip it on and off, and it literally doesn’t change anything.
