Every time I login to my site it is doing a backup and everything is slow. As soon as I deactivated the plugin, everything runs great. In fact, my site tells me I lose connection various times. Also, I can’t view a previous backup until the current backup finishes updating, which seems to never happen.

  • Same here. Initial backup takes forever on my site (4+ GB), within 28 hours it just did 43% of the job and my site is hellishly slow and WP also often loses connection…

    Hi Guys,

Thank you for trying out WP Time Capsule and giving us your feedback upon usage.
I understand that your site is large and the memory usage is hitting the server really hard.
But as per our knowledge and experience with clients, WPTC should take up very less memory so the chances of your server or site going down is very meek.
The problem could have been caused due to limited server configuration capabilities of your shared hosting. If there was compression or zipping involved, the story would have been different.
Here we directly take the files from the website and just upload it to the Dropbox or any cloud repository that you choose. So no compression or zipping. Your data stays the way it was.
The memory consumption will be higher than normal only during the first backup and not during subsequent backups.
If you could report the issue from inside your WPTC dashboard, I’ll see what went wrong and respond with a solution.
If you have any queries please write to us at [email protected] and I’ll see what see what our team can do to help you out!

    Cheers,
    Tauseef
