    Hello,

We are not quite sure why but with Facebook for WooCommerce plugin activated it’s adding up to 4 seconds to our page loading speeds. Why on earth is it slowing down my website so badly? If we can’t fix this I’ll be deleting it from our page and leaving a bad review. I can’t understand why such a massive organization like Facebook can release a plugin that affects load speeds so significantly.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

When we click Add to Cart it is taking up to 8 seconds to process the request. Once we deactivate the Add to Cart request takes 4 seconds. This is an absolute joke. It’s literally slowed down our user experience by 100%

    Hey @brendogs,

So sorry to hear that our plugin is causing a horrible experience for your customers, that certainly doesn’t sound normal! I’d love to take a closer look at what might be happening here. Typically, there isn’t a lot of front end actions that get called when adding to cart. We do have the pixel events which should trigger the event recording to Facebook, but other than that, it doesn’t sync the product for instance which is usually where we can see a performance hit.

Do you have a staging site that we could use to look at this more closely? So we can activate/deactivate the Facebook for WooCommerce plugin to see the difference?

    Cheers!

    Simon.

Yes we do have a staging setup @simonskyverge. Although for some reason the Add to Cart speed is perfect on the staging site compared to the live site. We just did a fresh instance of the staging for you to look into. I’m keen to see what your thoughts are.

How can I securely send you the staging details?

    Hey @brendogs,

How strange! I would imagine that the plugin and database data is the same across both your staging and live sites, is that right? Are there any optimization plugins, or cache settings, that might be running on the live site compared to the staging site do you know?

If you’d like to securely send over staging details it would be best if you could raise a support request via our support form and I can keep an eye out for your email.

Without being able to replicate the issue on the live site with matching plugins and settings, this may prove difficult to track down, though I can certainly take a look at the site, in general, to see if there are any clues as to what might be happening!

    Cheers,

    Simon.
