    Hi,

The plugin is slowing down the ?wc-ajax=checkout in the checkout page when placing an order, I have disabled all the plugins to discover that Yoast is the one causing this, the ajax is supposed to take 2-3 seconds but it is taking up to 15 and 20 seconds.

    please advice

    Ahmed

@ahmedzeidan We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue. Can you please confirm you are using the most recent Yoast v15.1.1? You can learn more about updating here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.5? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/
    ?
If you have already confirmed that both Yoast SEO and WordPress are up to date and the issue is still occurring, we would next recommend performing a conflict check to determine whether another plugin or theme is interfering with the Yoast plugin. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

Hi Carl, thanks for your reply.

Yoast and WP are both up to date, diagnosing on a staging site, I did not find any specific plugin that causes this delay in ajax=checkout as I tried to enable the plugins back one by one. Not sure what is the issue here.

I would welcome any insights here.

    Hi Ahmed!

Just to verify, are you using a plugin for the Ajax checkout? If you are, which plugin is it? Also, are you using WooCommerce?

    (@ahmedzeidan)

Hi Rumejan, using WooCommerce with its native checkout function, no special Ajax plugin in place.

    Thanks for getting back, Ahmed!

On your staging site, can you please activate only Yoast SEO and WooCommerce with all other plugins deactivated and your theme switched to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen? Does the issue occur? If not, reactivate your other plugins one at a time and check if the issue occurs again for every plugin reactivated. Lastly, switch to your theme.

I have done all of this except for switching back to the 2020 WP theme. will give you my feedback soon on this. Thanks.

Following this thread as we have a Woocommerce store that suffered the same problems with 15.1 and 15.1.1. We had to roll back to 15, which is not causing any of the speed problems (including checkout).

    Hi again,

So my outcome here is that Elementor Pro + Yoast makes the ajax=checkout add up significant time (4-5 seconds) without any other plugin, and the number accumulates all the way up to 15 or 20 seconds with all the plugins enabled.

Without Yoast and all plugins enabled the time drops down to normal (1-2 seconds).

    Hi,

Could you check if your website meets the necessary plugin requirements — https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/

Just to clarify on this issue, if you have a default theme such as TwentyTwenty, then enable Elementor Pro, Yoast SEO for WordPress, and WooCommerce, the issue occurs when the ajax=checkout is around 4-5 seconds.

But with a default theme, Elementor Pro, WooCommerce, the rest of your plugins enabled, and only Yoast SEO disabled, the ajax=checkout time is around 1-2 seconds?

    Hi @mikes41720

    The requirements are fully met.

Correct, When using Yoast SEO + Elementor pro (without other plugins) I get slow ajax. And when using full plugins without Yoast SEO Ajax is super fast and normal.

    Hi,

Could you let us know the exact combination that is causing the ajax=checkout time to be much longer than expected? If you are able to replicate as per checking forplugin conflicts with just Yoast SEO, Elementor, and WooCommerce, please file a bug report for our development team. As the issue is a conflict with another plugin or theme, we highly recommend reporting the issue to the development or support team of the other plugin or theme. Having both teams work on the issue is a benefit to you.

    (@ahmedzeidan)

Thanks Michael for explaining and providing the Bug Report link, I think this will be too much work for me right now ?? but yeah I will try to reach out to Elementor’s support to see if there is any conflict going on to be resolved in future updates.

I do appreciate your time and efforts here.
