Slowing down page wherever youtube video is posted

Hi,
Has anyone noticed extremely slow load times for pages with a published youtube video? When I turn off the Youtube embed plugin, the pages load-times are normal (under 3 sec). When I turn the plugin on, the pages with Youtube videos load at like 20+ secs.Is there a remedy for this?
