• After it worked for a while, it takes now not always but quite often about 41 seconds to load. I lost many visitors.

    Hi there,

Our widget is possibly the lightest chat widget available in the market; it weighs around 250 kb(!) – our chat downloads approx 1/3-1/2 less code compared to other live chat services. It’s extremely unlikely our chat will negatively affect your website loading speed or its performance in general since it loads asynchronously — it doesn’t interfere with your site’s content. This means that it’s loading aside the most vital elements of your website and doesn’t stop website parsing. The crucial resources aren’t impacted, and the chat goes at its own pace instead of waiting for content to be loaded first or interfering with it.

Regardless of the service you were using to measure the loading speed, only the first load of the website shows such numbers in the report. When you rerun the report, the chat will be loaded from the disk’s cache, providing better results in the report (and loading even faster!).

If you could give me the URL to your website, I will be able to check the waterfall and tell you a bit more about the widget loading times on your website.

Though great tools are designed for more traditionally structured websites, the services that supposedly measure the loading speed, the problem with those tools is that their advice can sometimes be inaccurate when it evaluates a website. Optimize image warning can be adhered to, but render-blocking JavaScript, minify JavaScript and minify HTML selectors can be considered recommendations. These factors do not significantly impair your site’s speed and functionality considerably in practice. When Google Pagespeed insights see ‘script’ in your code, they let you know that this ‘script’ makes you download some additional content. Services that measure the loading speed (Pingdom, GtMetrix, Google Pagespeed, etc.) of the website are not checking if content loads asynchronously (after the website is fully loaded) or not.
