Slow/down time on Godaddy hosted WP sites

  • 3 of my sites that I am hosting on Godaddy, and using WordPress to design, are almost always either not available, or take a good 10 seconds for the home page to load. These sites are all pretty straight forward text+images. This is obviously a situation that needs to be fixed.

    Does anyone know if Godaddy’s hosting is to blame? Would switching to Hostgator or another competitor help the situation in your experience?

    The weird thing is that a couple Godaddy Website Tonight sites that I maintain load just fine.

  • I had a slow down a while back and it was a host problem – another site on the same server as my site was on killed my load time – got my host to re-balance the server load and things are better.

    There are also some threads here indicating that a Plug-in can sometimes runaway and suck a bunch of resources.

    Ask your host first, they should have some information that would help.

    I run 6 WP sites on godaddy, I have no issues. But I was just recently moved to a new server….. so that could help
