• Hi all,

I’m running on our website (www.westerwoldeactueel.nl) nextgen for Photo reports. Sinds a time our website is very slow.

To look where the problem is coming from I installed P3 , Here nextgen came with a large 75% of usage!

So I turned off the nextgen plug-in (for a few minutes) and the website was fast again…

So the problem is in Nextgen…
is there a fix for this? it shall be ashamed to rollback to version 1.9.xx cause we really like the way 2.0.xx look likes and works.

Hope that someone can help us fix this problem for me, and other next-gen users,

    Cheers!

    Laurence Meijer

  • @jsbruin I don’t think it has been solved, my site has been slow for the past few weeks to where I can barely access it. I am on shared hosting though and that doesn’t help with performance for the type of site I run. One of my sites is running Nextgen version 1.9.13 and that site has been running fine (same shared hosting). Thinking of trying the plugin Image Store (which has a gallery only mode as well).

Thx, Steven. I suppose I’ll have to stick with the old build until a fix is released… or until I find a way to migrate my ngg associated images to another gallery plugin cleanly.

If anyone has found a way to resolve this issue (I have hundreds of posts and thousands of images so something might be choking), please share. Thx!

The new version solved the problem for me. Server had normal load again

Also i did a check what is loaded, every request loads 15- to 20MB.. The next-gen slider widget was the bad-guy. So, I disabled this and now one load takes 800 KB. this also creates less server load.

    Any solution?
My customer has 2000+ visitors per day on a vps.
Nextgen Gallery impacts on 92% of load time per page (with or without galleries).

    same here
