So far I have had no problems with YARPP. After the update from version 5.1.9 to 5.2.1 today I have the problem that the page load time of my website has become slow. If I deactivate YARPP it will be as fast as before.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@detoris Thank you for reporting this.

    – Would it be possible to get temporary admin access so we can examine the performance of the queries that are taking place on the page? jay at yarpp dot com

    – Did you apply any DB index changes or change anything else post-install? Were any other plugins updated about the same time?

    – Are you using a caching plugin? If so, which one.

I only update YARPP. I don’t change any settings before or after the update.
I haven’t changed anything on the DB index either.

    I don’t use a cache plugin.

When YARPP 5.2.1 is active, it takes a few seconds to show a website. If YARPP is deactivated, the page layout goes back almost immediately.

You have mail. Please do not change anything in the database.

I have deactivated YARPP for now, because the website is to slow. I can reactivate it for further tests, if you want. Otherwise I go back to version 5.1.9.

    Same here!

I have a front page with some calls of yarpp_get_related() (about 20 times). In 5.1.9 it was fast, in 5.2.1 it took about 10 seconds.

    I’m back on 5.1.9

@afillbrandt V5.2.2 was just released. This release should fix the issue. Can you please upgrade ASAP and confirm whether your site is speedy again?

@detoris I’ve already upgraded your installation. Can you please confirm performance boosts? Thank you for your help with debugging the issue — having access to your admin panel was super helpful to debug the issue.

    Thanks @jeffparker !

    5.2.2 works as aspected.

I just tested the website. It now seems to have the same fast loading time as before. YARPP v5.2.2 seems to be completely ok again.
    Thanks for your help.

    YARPP is how old?

Why hasn’t the developer made an option like YARPP experiments plugin, to be able to throttle the cache system of YARPP, so it can be usable on large WordPress websites?
